Roof Hanger CastingsFlue Damper
In the context of industrial furnaces, kilns, and other high-temperature processing units, a refractory brick roof hanger is a specialized component used to construct and support suspended refractory roofs. These roofs are critical for containing extreme heat and insulating the internal process.
Unlike a typical arched roof (which relies on compressive strength and abutments), a suspended refractory roof is hung from an external steel structure. This design offers several advantages, including :
- Reduced Stress on Refractories : The bricks are primarily under tension, not compression, which can extend their lifespan in high-temperature, corrosive environments.
- Easier Maintenance/Replacement : Individual bricks or sections can be replaced more easily without dismantling the entire roof.
- Greater Design Flexibility : Allows for larger spans and different furnace geometries.
